COVID-19 Information

Given ongoing developments around the new coronavirus (COVID-19), the Pacific Dental Conference and the Vancouver Convention Centre would like to assure you that measures have been put in place to amplify cleaning and sanitization processes throughout the venue.

At this time the BC Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) has determined that risk within British Columbia continues to be considered low.

Regardless the Convention Centre has taken additional precautionary measures to further support their high standard of cleanliness. These include:

Delegates are also encouraged to follow proper hygiene etiquette while attending the conference. The BC Centre for Disease Control recommends that individuals follow the same advice that public health officials recommend for the cold and flu season:

  • The most important thing you can do to prevent coronavirus and other illnesses is to wash your hands often with soap and water and avoid touching your face.
  • Cover your mouth and nose when you are coughing or sneezing so you're not exposing other people. If you are sick yourself, stay away from others. Contact your health-care provider ahead of time so you can be safely assessed.
  • We are communicating with the BCCDC and Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) to ensure we are doing everything that we can to create a safe environment. We will continue to monitor this situation closely, and will take direction from the BCCDC as well as provincial and federal authorities as required. For the most up-to-date and reliable information, you can refer to the World Health Organization's 2019-nCoV resource page and the BCCDC website. And for local information, please see VCH's 'Information on novel coronavirus' page on their website.

We are looking forward to welcoming everyone to the 2020 Pacific Dental Conference.
